Unusual Proximal Median Neuropathy Due to Compression by Pulsating Ulnar Artery - A Case Report -
Abstract
Proximal median neuropathy is uncommon. We report a case with left proximal median neuropathy due to compression of median nerve by ulnar artery at the proximal forearm. A 26-year-old woman complained left hand weakness without any sensory symptoms. Weakness was prominent in the distribution of anterior interosseous nerveinnervated muscles. Electrodiagnosis revealed proximal median neuropathy around the elbow and ultrasonographic study showed compression and splitting of median nerve by ulnar artery during pulsation.
