A Case of Thoracic Radiculopathy Caused by T1-2 Herniated Intervertebral Disc |
|
Abstract |
A 24-old male patient who had been involved in a traffic accident complained sensory symptoms at the upper chest area. On physical exam, dysesthesia and allodynia were localized at the level from T2 to T5 dermatomes bilaterally. Signs of dural irritation were observed, but there were no upper motor neuron signs. The electrodiagnostic studies showed bilateral thoracic radiculopathies. Electromyography showed abnormal spontaneous acitivities in the paraspinal muscles at the level between T2 and T5 bilaterally. Tibial somatosensory evoked potentials showed normal latencies and amplitudes bilaterally. Thoracic spine MRI showed central to left herniation of intervertebral disc at T1-2 level. |
