Two Cases of Hemi-Diaphragmatic Paralysis Caused by Multiple Radiculopathies after Cervical Spine Injury
Abstract
Unilateral diaphragmatic paralysis is uncommon and are usually caused by direct phrenic nerve injury due to trauma or complication of surgery. However hemidiaphragmatic paralysis due to cervical radiculopathy is rare. We report two cases who presented with unilateral diaphragmatic paralysis, most likely caused by superimposed multiple radiculopathies involving upper cervical segments after cervical spine injury.
