Electrophysiologic Classification of Severity of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome |
|
Abstract |
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the most common entrapment mononeuropathy and often requires therapies conservatively or surgically. For the diagnosis of CTS, recommendations of the electrodiagnostic studies have been made and found to be highly sensitive and specific. There is no universally agreed upon method of grading the severity of CTS. We describe a grading scheme for the severity of CTS by electrophysiologic criteria that may be useful when reporting a consultation. |
