Abstract |
Multifocal neuropathy with motor conduction block (MN-MCB) is a rare peripheral nerve disorder characterized by progressive, asymmetric limb weakness with no sensory impairment and it is regarded as one of the immune-mediated disorders. As name implies, the primary nature of MN-MCB is conduction block in multiple motor nerves. We experienced a patient with clinical finding of wrist drop and asymmetric diagonal muscle wasting in upper and lower limbs. Nerve conduction studies showed characteristic conduction blocks in multiple motor nerves including left median, radial and right deep peroneal nerves without any abnormal findings in sensory nerve conduction studies. Serum titers of antiglycolipid antibodies (GM1), Ig G and Ig M, remarkably increased. In this paper, we present a characteristic MN-MCB patient with discussions of electrodiagnostic findings of MN-MCB and conduction blocks. |
