Abstract |
Obturator mononeuropathy is rare. We report a case of a obturator neuropathy resulting from a pelvic crush injury with poor functional recovery. Electrodiagnostic examination indicated a severe degree of axonal disruption in the left obturator nerve, which correlated with the patient’s poor functional recovery. Nerve abnormalities, however, were not visible on MRI images or intraoperatively. This case highlights the possibility of developing a severe obturator mononeuropathy from a pelvic crush injury and the use of electrodiagnostic examination as an adjunct to its diagnosis. |
